This year, B Lab Benelux and Sumthing are flipping the Black Friday script and turning Black Friday into a day of action for the planet. Instead of fueling consumption, we're inviting all businesses—big or small—to help clean up our environment.
How can you join?
Big or small, all donations matter. Every € donates removes a kg of plastic from rivers and there is no minimum to participate.
Join in a way that best suits your business:
- Sales-driven: donate for every product sold, order or € revenue during Black Friday.
- Employee-driven: donate for every employee
- One-off: donate any amount that you can spare.
After Plastic Fischer discovered our campaign, they decided to chip in to further amplify the impact. They have committed to double the impact: every € results in 2kg of plastic removed. Isn't that great?!

Our planet is facing unprecedented environmental challenges, and the consumerism on days like this significantly adds to the burden. We’re turning Black Friday into a force for good. Together, we're building a movement of businesses committing to donating part (or all!) of their Black Friday sales to support Plastic Fischer to clean up the Ganges river - one of the world's most polluted rivers.
And guess what: in the true spirit of Black Friday, Sumthing is giving a 100% discount, waiving all of its regular fees and making sure every cent makes a difference.
By collectively raising our fists, we can create a strong counter-narrative this Black Friday, whilst directly improving the health of our rivers and oceans. B Lab and Sumthing will tag all participating B Corps in their Black Friday social media posts to maximise our collective reach.
Every year, 8 million tons of plastic—one truckload per minute—enter our oceans, with 80% originating from about 1,000 rivers worldwide.
Plastic Fischer intercepts river plastic before it reaches the ocean. The initiative not only prevents pollution but also creates jobs and boosts local economies through production and education. Every € cleans up 1kg of river plastic, and there is no minimum to participate!
